First, you must know that a good pizza starts with good dough. So when making a pizza, make sure the dough is wet (not overly wet, please), because the wetter the dough the crispier and lighter your pizza will be.

Pizza making consists of a few basic ingredients such as dough, sauce, cheese, and toppings. However, the different toppings and sauces used can vary depending on the regional and personal preference.

The toppings used for pizza range from different classic options like pepperoni, mushroom, and even onions.

Some unconventional choices like pineapple, barbecue chicken, and artichokes can also be used as toppings.

While Pizza can be a very delicious and satisfying meal, it is very important to consider its nutritional content. Pizza can be high in calories, fat, and sodium especially when loaded with cheese and processed meat.

However, there are healthier options that can be used like whole wheat crust, lean protein, toppings, and plenty of vegetables.

  • 1 tbsp onion powder
  • garlic (minced)
  • 1 tbsp black pepper

  • 1 tsp yeast
  • 50g Sugar
  • Warm Water
  • 500g flour
  • 2 tbsp veg. oil
  • Salt
  • 1 tbsp vanilla flavour

How to Make Pizza Step-by-Step

How to Make Pizza

Before you start making the pizza, ensure all the utensils and equipment you will be using are clean. Then go ahead with the preparation of how to make pizza.

Step 1

Wash the proteins (chicken and beef) and marinate separately on low heat, when it’s properly cooked. filter the proteins out cut them into small or medium dice and fry. then set aside.

Step 2

Using a large bowl combine the flour, sugar, and salt. Add warm water and yeast to the mixture and mix till it is well combined.

Then transfer it to the work surface for kneading and knead until the dough is smooth and elastic.

Step 3

Coat a bowl with oil and set aside. To the dough form a ball shape with it and place it in the coated bowl, then cover with a plastic wrap for it to rise. Set it aside for an hour or less than an hour for it to double in size.

Step 4

In a clean bowl put the ketchup, sweet chili sauce, onion powder, minced garlic, and black pepper, mix them all, and set aside.

Step 5

After one hour or when it is doubled in size, remove the plastic wrap and punch down to remove trapped air. Then transfer the dough to a work surface that is lightly floured and divide the dough into two equal parts.

Step 6

Use a rolling pin (or your hand, if it’s comfortable for you) to push the dough from the center to the edge, and maintain a circular shape.

Use cornmeal or butter to dust the pizza pan, then lift the dough from the work surface to the pan and continue flattening the dough to take the shape of the pan. The edge of the dough must be thicker for the crust.

Step 7

Brush the dough on the pan with some olive oil, and pay more attention to the edges, this will help you achieve the golden brown crust after baking. (You can skip this part if not necessary, and go ahead to toppings)

Step 8

Spread the ketchup mixture on the dough, add the mozzarella cheese, fresh tomatoes, sweet corn, onions, bell peppers, fried beef and chicken (or any other toppings of your choice). Bake for 10-12 minutes in an oven at 450oC rotating halfway in between.

After 11-12miutes the pizza will be ready, go ahead to enjoy yourself with family and friends because pizza is a convenient option for a quick meal.
